He emphasized that the ubiquitous presence of mobile devices in our lives is evident from research showing an average of 47 daily interactions per person and accounting for over 52% of website visits.

    Mr Kilment pointed out that mobile devices have overtaken traditional items like wallets and identity cards in terms of importance, given their integral role in daily routines and data storage, including biometric data for authentication purposes.

    Challenges in Unmanaged Mobile Device Scenarios

    Addressing common scenarios encountered by customers, Kilment illustrated the challenges faced by companies when mobile devices are not properly managed. He cited examples from the food delivery and logistics sectors, where lack of device management can lead to inefficiencies and security vulnerabilities.

    From a cybersecurity perspective, Mr Kilment suggested several management strategies, including the use of kiosk or single-app modes to restrict device usage strictly for work purposes, and the implementation of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies with controlled work containers. These measures ensure that company data remains secure while not infringing on personal usage.

    Mr Kilment concluded by asserting that effective mobile device management is crucial for enhancing overall cybersecurity and should be a priority for companies moving forward.
