For the first time, screenings for this week-long event will extend from TOA\u2019s home city of Cambridge to London, as well as continuing online, allowing even more people across Britain to enjoy new cinema from T\u00fcrkiye.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17598\" style=\"width: 1930px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17598\" class=\"wp-image-17598 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/by-tv.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Ceviz-Agaci_Silenced-Tree_Still-2019-10-09-13.56.02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"807\" title=\"\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-17598\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ceviz A\u011fac\u0131 \/ Silenced Tree Taste of Anatolia \u2013 Films of Turkey 2022: Cambridge and London venues to jointly host this year\u2019s programme<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This year\u2019s TOA programme lists 38 star-studded movies. Ten of these are feature-length films and 28 shorts, with five of the 38 films documentaries. The selection includes both prominent and upcoming Turkish directors tackling a myriad of themes, such as anti-war, religiosity, and a heist thriller using a blend of comic book and live-action drama.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sar\u0131 S\u0131cak Fragman - Fikret Reyhan\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aKlttZHImig\" width=\"670\" height=\"377\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nMany of the films will be enjoying their UK premieres, among them the award-winning <strong>Bembeyaz \/ Pure White<\/strong>, screening at Dalston\u2019s Rio Cinema on 9 November. The film is the debut feature of Necip \u00c7a\u011fan \u00d6zdemir. Showing at both the Rio (10\/11) and Cambridge\u2019s Old Divinity School (06\/11) is <strong>Ceviz A\u011fac\u0131 \/ Silenced Tree<\/strong>, written, produced and directed by Faysal Soysal, who will be in attendance. Another making its UK premiere is critically acclaimed family drama <strong>\u00c7atlak \/ Fractured<\/strong>, director Fikret Reyhan\u2019s follow-up feature to his award-winning film Yellow Heat. The film will be screening at Old Divinity School (06\/11) and Artlens (08\/11), London.<\/p>\n<p>One of TOA 2022\u2019s headline movies is <strong>Klondike<\/strong>, a multiple award-winning Ukrainian-Turkish production directed by Maryna Er Gorbach. The film centres on a family in the Donetsk region of Eastern Ukraine whose world is violently disrupted by the crash of flight MH17 in 2014 and the events that follow. The film travels to Cambridge\u2019s Arts Picturehouse (08\/11) following screenings at prestigious festivals such as Sundance, and the London, Berlin, and Istanbul Film Festivals.<\/p><div id=\"briti-2693726079\" class=\"briti-icerik\" style=\"margin-top: 5px;margin-bottom: 5px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/piaryum.com\/services\/\" aria-label=\"piaryum banner\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/by-tv.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Gemini_Generated_Image_g5yqr1g5yqr1g5yq.jpg\" alt=\"\"  width=\"2064\" height=\"1152\"   \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Netflix\u2019s hit series \u2018The Club\u2019 actor Salih Bademci and Nur Fettaho\u011flu, who came to global fame as the <em>haseki <\/em>(consort) of the Ottoman Sultan in Turkish period drama \u2018Magnificent Century\u2019, are among those starring in the festival\u2019s top picks.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights from<a href=\"https:\/\/by-tv.co.uk\/en\/cambridge-ve-londra-4-anadolunun-tadi-taste-of-anatolia-turkiyeden-filmler-festivaline-ev-sahipligi-yapacak\/\"> Taste of Anatolia<\/a> \u2013 Films from Turkey 2022 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Tunel <\/em><\/strong><strong>\/ Tunnel <\/strong>(dir. Ebru \u00d6zyurt)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After two difficult years due to the coronavirus pandemic, TOA enthusiastically welcomes back audiences with theatre screenings in diverse venues in and around two cities. For Cambridge, TOA films will be showing at the Arts Picturehouse, Old Divinity School in St John\u2019s College, Christ\u2019s College, and Gardiner Memorial Hall in Burwell Village. TOA screening venues for London are Rio Cinema in Dalston, and Hackney\u2019s Artlens.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s TOA 2022 festival pass costs just \u00a35, and allows you to watch all online screenings and all films being shown at Cambridge University colleges. Festival passes can be purchased from Bal\u0131k Arts\u2019 online platform <a href=\"http:\/\/www.balikartstv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.balikartstv.com.<\/a> For all other TOA theatrical screenings, tickets are available direct from the cinemas.<\/p>\n<p>TOA is organised by film charity Bal\u0131k Arts, as part of its aim to offer young people direct experience of all aspects of film making and film festival management. TOA also hosts \u201cFilm Beyond Borders\u201d, a transnational project funded by Erasmus+ and led by Bal\u0131k Arts in the UK.
